Instead of only reading about fossils or looking at pictures in a book, students will be able to create, explore, and learn through a hands-on activity. They will get to see how impressions and shapes can be preserved and use their creativity to make their own fossil models.\r\n\r\nThe clay will help make this lesson much more meaningful for our students. They will be able to pretend to be paleontologists as they create their fossils and think about what fossils can tell us about organisms that lived long ago. They will have opportunities to make observations, ask questions, and discuss their creations with their classmates.\r\n\r\nHands-on learning is especially exciting for our students because it gives them a chance to learn by doing. We know that when students are actively involved in a lesson, they are more likely to remember what they have learned. This activity will allow them to connect what they are learning in science to something they can actually create and hold in their hands.\r\n\r\nWe are looking forward to seeing the creativity and excitement in our classroom as students make their fossils. We had wonderful discussions about the books after they were read. Students loved the books.\r\nThe new laminator has been a wonderful asset to the classroom.
