We were able to utilize the technology to support many of the events we competed in.\r\n\r\nThe 3D printer was an incredible asset in helping us build our Tower and Electric Vehicle for the competition. The students were able to quickly prototype, test, and refine their designs in ways that would not have been possible with traditional methods. The process of creating, modifying, and improving parts for both projects allowed them to truly grasp the concepts of engineering, design, and problem-solving. It also encouraged them to think creatively and critically as they brought their ideas to life, building their confidence in both their technical abilities and teamwork skills.\r\n\r\nIn particular, the 3D printer helped us with the intricate structures required for our Tower. It allowed us to create lightweight yet strong components that were precisely tailored to meet the competition's requirements. The hands-on experience with designing and testing these parts gave the students valuable insight into material science and structural engineering principles.\r\n\r\nFor the Electric Vehicle, the 3D printer was essential in fabricating custom parts that fit perfectly and functioned efficiently. The students were able to focus on optimizing the vehicle's performance while ensuring that every component was designed with precision. This real-world application of engineering principles helped them understand the complexity of building a functional vehicle while also keeping the process engaging and educational.\r\n\r\nBeyond the technical skills gained, the 3D printer also sparked enthusiasm and curiosity in the students. It was inspiring to see their creativity come alive as they explored new ways to solve problems, test new ideas, and push the boundaries of what they could achieve. All of this would not have been possible without your support.","fullyFundedDate":1728435936524,"projectUrl":"project/3d-printer-for-scioly-success/8804227/","projectTitle":"3D Printer for SciOly Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Osornio","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2371281_orig.jpg?crop=280,280,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1565233925049","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2371281"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_1353","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1518,"numTeachers":86,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":27,"percentWhite":47,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.8,"schoolId":1353,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cape Fear High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cape Fear High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/cumberland-county-schools/cape-fear-high-school/1353"}
