Because of your kindness, my world history classroom now features ten clocks representing ten different time zones from around the globe. This may seem like a simple addition, but it has already become a powerful teaching tool that brings our curriculum to life in a meaningful and lasting way.\r\n\r\nThese clocks are far more than decorations on the wall. They are daily visual reminders that history does not happen in isolation and that the world is interconnected. As students enter the classroom, they immediately see that while we are beginning our day here, people in other parts of the world are ending theirs, sleeping, working, or celebrating. This sparks natural curiosity and thoughtful questions that lead directly into deeper historical discussions.\r\n\r\nThroughout the semester, we will study each of the regions represented by our classroom clocks. As we explore ancient civilizations, trade routes, empires, revolutions, and modern global events, students will be able to connect what they are learning to real places and real people who exist simultaneously across the world. The clocks help students better understand geography, the concept of time, and how distance and time zones have shaped communication, travel, and historical events.\r\n\r\nUsing analog clocks is also an intentional and valuable choice. Many students are accustomed only to digital time, and learning to read analog clocks builds an important life skill while reinforcing mathematical reasoning and critical thinking. At the same time, the physical movement of the clock hands provides a tangible sense of time passing—something that aligns beautifully with the study of history itself.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your donation has helped create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Students feel more connected to the world beyond their own experiences, and they are developing a stronger sense of global awareness and empathy. These are lessons that extend far beyond world history and will stay with them long after the school year ends.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in innovative classroom ideas and for investing in meaningful educational experiences. Your generosity directly impacts my students every single day, and I am deeply grateful for your support. This project would not have been possible without you, and I am proud to share its success with our classroom community.","fullyFundedDate":1765442953088,"projectUrl":"project/time-zones-timeless-learning/9586409/","projectTitle":"Time Zones, Timeless Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Demchock","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp502150_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1621195685549","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/502150"},{"teacherId":4498000,"projectId":9489326,"letterContent":"On behalf of our program, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for your generous support. We were able to utilize the technology to support many of the events we competed in.\r\n\r\nThe 3D printer was an incredible asset in helping us build our Tower and Electric Vehicle for the competition. The students were able to quickly prototype, test, and refine their designs in ways that would not have been possible with traditional methods. The process of creating, modifying, and improving parts for both projects allowed them to truly grasp the concepts of engineering, design, and problem-solving. It also encouraged them to think creatively and critically as they brought their ideas to life, building their confidence in both their technical abilities and teamwork skills.\r\n\r\nIn particular, the 3D printer helped us with the intricate structures required for our Tower. It allowed us to create lightweight yet strong components that were precisely tailored to meet the competition's requirements. The hands-on experience with designing and testing these parts gave the students valuable insight into material science and structural engineering principles.\r\n\r\nFor the Electric Vehicle, the 3D printer was essential in fabricating custom parts that fit perfectly and functioned efficiently. The students were able to focus on optimizing the vehicle's performance while ensuring that every component was designed with precision. This real-world application of engineering principles helped them understand the complexity of building a functional vehicle while also keeping the process engaging and educational.\r\n\r\nBeyond the technical skills gained, the 3D printer also sparked enthusiasm and curiosity in the students. It was inspiring to see their creativity come alive as they explored new ways to solve problems, test new ideas, and push the boundaries of what they could achieve. All of this would not have been possible without your support.","fullyFundedDate":1728435936524,"projectUrl":"project/3d-printer-for-scioly-success/8804227/","projectTitle":"3D Printer for SciOly Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Osornio","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2371281_orig.jpg?crop=280,280,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1565233925049","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2371281"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_1353","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1518,"numTeachers":86,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":27,"percentWhite":47,"percentIndigenous":2,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.7,"schoolId":1353,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cape Fear High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cape Fear High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/cumberland-county-schools/cape-fear-high-school/1353"}
