Your support has truly transformed learning in our classroom. My students are genuinely excited to log in because the interactive games make learning feel like fun rather than work — they often don't even realize they're practicing important skills. The platform's varied activities capture different learning styles, so students who might be reluctant with traditional worksheets become focused and motivated. Seeing their progress bars and receiving immediate feedback keeps them persistent; they celebrate small wins and eagerly return to tackle new challenges.\r\nYour gift has also fostered both healthy competition and heartfelt collaboration. Students love competing with classmates and tracking who improves the most, which raises the overall energy and effort in class. At the same time, they cheer for one another, share strategies, and help peers overcome tricky problems, strengthening our classroom community. Best of all, the resource allows me to individualize instruction easily — each learner works at the right level, building confidence and measurable growth. This contribution has made a significant impact on my students' learning experience. With these tools, my students are now able to read along with their books, which has greatly improved their overall reading skills. Not only has this enhanced their comprehension, but it has also supported the growth of their reading fluency and vocabulary. By listening while reading, they can more easily grasp the flow of the story, and this has strengthened their ability to tackle challenging words. The increase in student engagement has been remarkable, and the students now feel more confident as they work through difficult texts. I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade Science and you have impacted about 70 students with this contribution. My students were very appreciative and excited to see these new items out in the classroom. Most of them were in awe of your generosity in purchasing these items when, as they put it, \"they don't even know us!\" Let me share with you some of the ways we've been using the items you purchased.\r\n\r\nI started right away by putting out the new Science fiction books. I gave short book talks for each of the new books that were purchased. That helped to get the students excited and quite a few of them were ready to start reading during our silent reading time. Those books are consistently being checked out from my classroom library now. Next I created a bin of what I call \"when you done activities.\" This bin included the brain teaser puzzles, fidgets and rubik cubes that were purchased. Students have an opportunity to use these items after they have finished their assignments and our lessons are done. A lot of times they only have about 5-10 minutes to use these items, but I love to hear the students congratulate each other when they accomplish one or just the excitement at getting to try one. It gives them a way to stretch their brain in a different way and somewhat of a break before they transition to their next class. I look to see them taking turns and working together. The new calculators have been put to use already multiple times as we have completed lab write ups and short activities where they needed to find the average for various measurements. It was nice to have enough of those in the classroom so that we didn't have to go ask the math teacher to borrow his set. I have put up some of the various posters that were purchased, and it's nice to have those visuals up to brighten the room. We are very much looking forward to launching bottle rockets at the end of the year. That is a favorite activity that most of the school looks forward to seeing the Jr High students do, and we are grateful this year to have our own launcher that you purchased rather than have to search out one to borrow.\r\n\r\nI know your purchases will continue to be used in my Jr High classes for many years. You have made a difference to me and to the Jr High students at Canyon Creek.","fullyFundedDate":1733345892654,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-in-more-science/8776837/","projectTitle":"Bringing in More Science!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Matt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9747397"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78812","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":195,"numTeachers":14,"percentFrplEligible":2,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":83,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":18.5,"schoolId":78812,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Canyon Creek School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Canyon Creek School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/canyon-creek-school-district-4/canyon-creek-school/78812"}
