The projector and lumen you provided have transformed learning for my students with moderate to severe autism. Before, it was hard for them to see and stay engaged with the small screen, but now the bigger, brighter display captures their attention and keeps them focused. They are most excited during circle time, story reading, and sing-alongs, where they clap, smile, and eagerly participate. One student who often struggled to engage now sits through entire stories, pointing at pictures and answering questions, while another happily follows along with music because the words and visuals are clear. Your gift has truly made learning more meaningful and joyful for my students, and we are so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1749839865676,"projectUrl":"project/from-small-screen-to-big-dreams-making/9306678/","projectTitle":"From Small Screen to Big Dreams: Making Learning Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Albia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9083621_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1687672162081","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9083621"},{"teacherId":9083621,"projectId":9237731,"letterContent":"Our summer class was truly unforgettable. The inflatable pool, spinning water sprinkler, and bubbles brought so much joy and excitement to our students. Every Friday became a highly anticipated event for our Water Play Friday. \r\n\r\nThe sensory benefits of water play were remarkable. The water helped the kids feel calm and happy. While playing, they also learned how to share, take turns, and work together. This was really helpful, especially for students who have sensory needs or find it hard to play with others.\r\n\r\nWhat made this project even more impactful is that it became a shared experience across our program. We had a rotating schedule so other classrooms could also enjoy the water equipment. \r\n\r\nThanks to this project, our summer learning became more than academics. It became a sensory-rich, socially engaging, joyful adventure that the kids will always remember. We are beyond grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1745847003410,"projectUrl":"project/cool-waves-a-sensory-summer-adventure/9237731/","projectTitle":"Cool Waves: a Sensory Summer Adventure","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Albia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9083621_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1687672162081","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9083621"},{"teacherId":9083621,"projectId":9013951,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our project, \"Empowering Kids with Autism: Social Skills and Movement Through Play.\" My students have absolutely enjoyed using the new materials in our classroom! It's been wonderful to see them engaged, active, and learning while having fun.\r\n\r\nOne of their favorite additions has been the hopscotch mat. Not only are they practicing their gross motor skills, but they're also learning to count from 1 to 10 as they jump. The stepping stones have been a big hit too—students take turns, follow one another, and work on balance and coordination. One student especially benefits from the wobble chair during instruction, which helps meet his sensory needs while keeping him focused. They also love the corn hole game, which has become a fun way to practice turn-taking, focus, and motor planning.\r\n\r\nThese tools have truly brought more movement, joy, and learning into our classroom. As a special education teacher, your generosity has had a direct and meaningful impact in my classroom. The materials I've been able to create using the laminator, laminating sheets, and other supplies have become essential tools for my students' daily learning.\r\n\r\nMy students, who have moderate to severe autism, benefit immensely from hands-on and visual supports. Thanks to the laminated materials, I've been able to produce durable, reusable visuals—like picture schedules, communication cards, token boards, and letter tiles. One of our classroom favorites has been the laminated letters, which my students use to form words. This multisensory activity has been a hit and supports both their communication and literacy goals in a fun, interactive way.\r\n\r\nIn special education, especially with younger learners, we need materials that are functional, engaging, and built to last. Your donation allowed me to create resources that meet those needs. The visual supports help reduce anxiety and increase independence. The structured learning activities help reinforce routines and build confidence.\r\n\r\nThere are so many other items I've been able to produce because of your generosity—file folder tasks, sorting activities, name tags, adapted books, and so much more. Each one plays a part in supporting my students' individual learning styles.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for investing in my classroom.
