With this anchor chart paper I can create large, colorful, and engaging anchor charts that are perfect for first graders. These charts let us capture student thinking, model lessons step-by-step, and display important vocabulary and strategies in a way young learners can easily see and use. By hanging the charts around the room, students can reference them again and again to build background knowledge, support independence, and connect new learning to what they already know. Students use the small rugs to define their space during whole group lesson. They love being able to choose which color they are going to use each morning. The rugs are also very soft, which helps some students with their sensory needs. The larger rugs are used for centers to help contain the materials used for each activity. It has really helped us keep the materials together when working in centers. \r\n\r\nAs each item arrived and was opened, students were excited to try out the new items that would define our spaces. They love feeling the soft rugs and sitting on them throughout the day. The number stickers used for lining up have helped students remember to give each other space in line and has defined where they should stand when lining up. I believe each of us have appreciated the help defining our own spaces.\r\n\r\nWe will continue using the rugs and number stickers to ensure that we are containing our materials and respecting each others' space.","fullyFundedDate":1729624817406,"projectUrl":"project/defining-spaces/8707157/","projectTitle":"Defining Spaces","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Burrell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2499256_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1534637030970","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2499256"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_11751","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":500,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":32,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":81.2,"schoolId":11751,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Cannon Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Cannon Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/grapevine-colleyville-ind-sd/cannon-elementary-school/11751"}
