Students have been practicing tracing and cutting shapes, which helps them strengthen hand-eye coordination and build confidence with scissors. One of my favorite moments was watching kindergarteners complete their shape and were so proud of it. \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were immediately eager to explore. Many of them said, \"Can we start now?\" and rushed to pick out shapes to trace. The bright colors and new tools really motivated them.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, the next steps are to apply these fine motor skills to more complex classroom projects—like creating layered paper art, labeling diagrams, and building small interactive notebooks. These resources will continue supporting them as they grow more independent and confident in their work.","fullyFundedDate":1759847132315,"projectUrl":"project/cutting-into-creativity-a-chomp-saw-for/9574203/","projectTitle":"Cutting Into Creativity: A Chomp Saw for STEM Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Moore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4572071_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740083865831","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4572071"},{"teacherId":91338,"projectId":9329893,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of Tonie characters! These new additions have been such a gift to our Kindergarten listening center. My students use the Tonies during small group rotations and during free choice time, and the wide variety of characters allows them to select stories and songs that reflect their own interests and backgrounds. It has been so meaningful to have Tonies that represent different races and genders—my students light up when they see characters who look and sound like them.\r\n\r\nWhen the Tonies first arrived, the children were absolutely thrilled. They crowded around the table, excited to explore each character, and immediately began asking to try them out. One memorable moment was when a group of students discovered a new story together and then retold it during playtime, acting it out with their own voices and movements. It showed me how the stories were sparking imagination and deepening their comprehension.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students are to continue building their listening and retelling skills through these Tonies. They are beginning to connect the stories they hear with our classroom lessons in reading and writing, and I can see their confidence growing each day. Your support has truly made our listening center a favorite place in the classroom, and we are so grateful for your kindness!","fullyFundedDate":1752586479741,"projectUrl":"project/tales-with-tonies-bringing-stories-to-l/9329893/","projectTitle":"Tales with Tonies: Bringing Stories to Life in Kindergarten","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kidd","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp91338_orig.jpg?crop=660,660,x0,y70&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1617328935400","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/91338"},{"teacherId":91338,"projectId":9221438,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding our project! The Toniebox and Tonies have been an amazing addition to our Kindergarten classroom. While many families are familiar with technology at home, the Toniebox offers something truly unique in school—it gives my students the chance to build listening, comprehension, and vocabulary skills in a fun and hands-on way. We use it as part of our listening center during small group time, and students also love choosing it during free choice time. It has turned listening into a joyful experience, while also supporting their early literacy development.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is the independence the Toniebox gives them. They enjoy selecting a Tonie character, placing it on top of the box, and diving into a story or song. One of my students, Jacob, who sometimes struggles to stay engaged during lessons, has especially warmed to this new tool. He listens intently to the stories and then retells them to classmates, showing just how much his listening and recall skills are growing. Watching his confidence and focus bloom has been one of the best parts of this project.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly transformed our classroom.
