We have been able to incorporate a variety of activities tailored to help students manage their emotions, express their feelings, and build positive relationships with their peers. One of the highlights has been using the new resources during our daily \"feelings circle,\" where students engage with visual aids and storybooks to discuss their emotions. This activity has created a safe space for students to open up and share how they're feeling, helping them develop essential emotional skills. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their excitement was palpable. They eagerly participated in activities, using the visual emotion cards and books to express themselves in ways they hadn't before. It was inspiring to see how the materials sparked conversations and encouraged self-reflection among my students, especially those with disabilities who often struggle with communication. \r\n\r\nMoving forward, we plan to continue integrating these materials into our daily routines. We'll focus on building emotional resilience and encouraging students to recognize their feelings and choose strategies to cope with them. For example, during our storytime sessions, students eagerly gather around the Toniebox, engaging with the stories and discussing the pictures that accompany the narration. They are excited to explore new words and phrases, and I've noticed significant improvements in their ability to follow along with the story and recall details. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the Toniebox, their reactions were filled with curiosity and excitement. They were eager to touch and explore it, and the interactive nature of the box has quickly become a favorite part of our classroom routine. I've witnessed students independently seek out their sensory toolboxes during moments of frustration or anxiety, using these tools to calm themselves and return to their work with renewed focus and confidence. \r\n\r\nBy equipping each student with their own sensory toolbox, we've fostered a sense of independence and ownership over their emotional well-being. This has not only improved individual behavior but also created a more positive and supportive classroom atmosphere for everyone. Students are learning to identify their emotions and utilize strategies to manage them, which are valuable skills they can carry beyond the classroom.
