The students are absolutely loving the experience! Through this activity, they are learning valuable life lessons about responsibility, financial management, and the importance of doing their jobs well.\r\n\r\nWe've even expanded on the original plan by incorporating a technology component. When students shop, they now submit digital requests that the banker and shop manager must approve before items are dispersed. This has added a fun and realistic layer of accountability and teamwork.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, I've introduced \"fines\" for small infractions such as noise violations or being unprepared. This helps students understand that, just like in the real world, there are sometimes unexpected expenses—like speeding tickets!\r\n\r\nIt's been fascinating to watch their different approaches: some students save carefully to pay their rent and bills, while others spend quickly and learn from the consequences. Every week, they beg to go shopping—it's become one of their favorite parts of class.\r\n\r\nNone of this would have been possible without your generosity. Thanks to your support and the supplies you helped provide, my students are more engaged, motivated, and eager to do well every day. We discussed the movie, Six Triple Eight where we added Major Charity Adam and Romay Davis. We have a Sip and Paint Activity where we painted these outstanding icons. The materials are spread out around different areas and provide a multitude of activities that the students love. \r\n\r\nThe Lego Wall has become a favorite activity for a group of eighth graders who might never have come into the library on their own. This age group can be difficult; they feel and act \"grown,\" but they really still are kids, which can cause behavior issues. Everybody is well-behaved and cooperative at the Wall. They plan, collaborate, build, laugh, talk, and stay involved the entire time they're together. \r\n\r\nAnother well-loved activity is jewelry-making.
