For weeks, students had been sharing chargers, borrowing from other rooms, and sometimes unable to complete digital projects because of low batteries. Now, thanks to your generosity, every student has the power they need to keep learning, creating, and exploring without interruptions.\r\n\r\nOne of the first days after the chargers arrived, a group of students who were working on a research project stopped to cheer when their laptops turned on at full charge. It may seem like a small thing, but having dependable power means our students can focus on their learning instead of worrying about finding a working charger.\r\n\r\nYour donation made a real and immediate difference. Our media center is once again running smoothly, and students can fully participate in coding lessons, digital storytelling, and research projects. They immediately began brainstorming what they could build, such as castles, bridges, towers, and even marble runs. The simple wooden planks quickly became one of the most popular choices during our Makerspace time, sparking creativity, teamwork, and problem solving in every grade level.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a group of third graders work together to build a bridge strong enough to hold a stack of books. They tested, failed, redesigned, and tried again, each time talking through what went wrong and how they could make it better. The pride on their faces when their structure finally held was priceless. These experiences are exactly what STEM learning is all about, with curiosity, collaboration, and perseverance shining through every activity.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, students now have a hands-on way to explore engineering concepts and practice critical thinking. The Keva Planks have become a staple in our weekly Makerspace rotations, and we are already planning new challenges like Tallest Tower competitions and design activities connected to literature. Your donation did not just provide materials; it inspired confidence and creativity that will keep stacking up all year long.","fullyFundedDate":1744302582896,"projectUrl":"project/stacking-up-stem-success/9242842/","projectTitle":"Stacking Up STEM Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Asni","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9806056_orig.jpg?crop=315,315,x0,y6&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744056688305","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9806056"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_71040","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":490,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":62,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":78,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"15.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.8,"schoolId":71040,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Burr Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Burr Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/utica-community-school-district/burr-elementary-school/71040"}
