Before this, many of my kids didn't have easy access to books they actually wanted to read. Now? They walk in asking, \"Do we have reading time today?\" (I know... I was surprised too.)\r\n\r\nWith these new books, we're working on all the important skills, theme, character development, making inferences, and backing up ideas with text evidence, but it doesn't feel like pulling teeth anymore. They're doing it naturally because they're invested in the stories. It turns out, when kids like what they're reading, they suddenly become much better readers. I just didn't like the books before.\" That one hit me right in the teacher heart.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, my students aren't just completing assignments, they're becoming readers.
