By providing them with Native and Indigenous poetry, you are giving them literature that is not only more accessible but also culturally relevant and deeply meaningful. This project will allow Native students to see themselves reflected in the words they read while offering the broader school community a chance to engage with and appreciate Indigenous perspectives.\r\n\r\nExposure to traditional Native poetry fosters inspiration. Creative replication comes from creative influence, and I hope these works will plant the seeds for future Indigenous writers within my classroom.
