My students were so excited when we opened the box and received the paint, paint brushes, boxes for organizing our puzzles whose boxes have been wrecked. Our colorful spots that we can write on and also our colorful spots that we can sit on.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the paint for our weekly art projects. Our old paints and paint brushes were old, chunky and the brushes were falling apart. Our classroom rug was and the students did not want to sit on it or lay down on it. Now our classroom rug is beautiful and new. It brings color to our classroom. \r\n\r\nOur rug is the center of our classroom. In Kindergarten, we do our main instruction at the rug and then go to our desks for individual learning. We use are whiteboard daily. We start the day with math where we use magnetic numbers to put numbers in order and/or create numbers. We use number bond magnetic materials, we use magnetic ten frames and counters in our daily calendar work. We also have magnetic numbers and shapes.\r\n\r\nIn reading we use our magnetic alphabet at the beginning of the year while we are learning our ABC's. We then have magnetic pictures of CVC, CVCe and blend words. Many of them love the planners because they provide a sense of control and accomplishment as they check off tasks and watch their progress unfold. The headphones have been especially popular during independent study times.
