It has been an amazing success! Because of you, we have been able to enjoy a great first semester without the hassle of running out of supplies. The students have also been able to engage in hands-on, creative activities making their learning all the more fun and meaningful. \r\n\r\nWorking with middle schoolers is truly a rewarding experience, but certainly no easy task. The daily routine of \"I need a pencil\" or \"I need a piece of paper\" can start to wear teachers and students down. However, the supplies purchased with your donations made this daily routine much less anxiety inducing, and it has been so easy for myself and the students to be able to continue to learn without the stress of not having materials. \r\n\r\nOnce again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you all so very much for your support. Each and every one of you has truly made a difference in the educational experience and environment of these students.","fullyFundedDate":1754758015885,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-for-success/9547675/","projectTitle":"Supplies for Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Uribe","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10115432_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754578202889","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10115432"},{"teacherId":9874901,"projectId":9008257,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my Middle School Care Closet! By donating, you have really provided a practical way to give my students a more equitable experience while they are at school. \r\n\r\nI am regularly having to refill the drawers (especially the deodorant drawers, thank goodness, lol), and the students freely go in there. We have helped create a space where they are free from embarrassment and stigma that they can come to at anytime to get whatever they may need. \r\n\r\nBy having this care closet, it has also provided and environment where students feel comfortable with approaching me with other individual needs they may have at the time that the closet may not cover, and that is huge, especially at their ages (11-14 year olds)!!\r\n\r\nThanks again for your generosity. Our students were just as excited about putting the unit together as they were about filling it up (this was great practice with following instructions for students who are working on executive functioning skills). \r\n\r\nWith the greenhouse, our students are also learning about how temperature and humidity affect plant growth. During every club meeting, they check the temperature and humidity, look at how the plants are doing, and decide if they need to make any changes (e.g. more airflow, less water).\r\n\r\nHaving this greenhouse has also allowed us to house some plants that thrive in warmer climates than Colorado. We have started growing an avocado tree and are also plant-sitting a vanilla plant for one of our teachers. As the students were learning about the avocado tree (particularly that it might take years before it will grow fruit), we talked about hard it can be to do work when we might not see the benefits for a long time. We asked our 6th graders to think about how different this tree will be in 3 years when they are in 8th grade, then to think about how different they will be in three years. One of the unforeseen benefits of Garden Club has been teaching our students about delayed gratification, hopefully building skills that will stay with them forever (or at least as long as it takes an avocado tree to grow fruit).","fullyFundedDate":1736664376818,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-students-grow-plants/8958215/","projectTitle":"Help Our Students Grow...
