The new games and indoor resources have transformed what used to be long, restless afternoons into joyful, collaborative learning opportunities. One of my favorite moments happened last week when a group of students gathered around a strategy game and, without realizing it, began explaining their thinking, taking turns, and encouraging each other. What was once \"indoor recess\" has now become a space for creativity, teamwork, and social-emotional growth.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with surprise. Several of them cheered; others immediately asked if they could start playing and teaching their friends. Their excitement showed me just how meaningful these resources are—not just for fun, but for building a positive, supportive classroom community. Your contribution gave them something special to look forward to on days that used to feel disappointing.\r\n\r\nAs we continue using these materials, my students are learning how to work together, communicate, and problem-solve—skills that extend far beyond the classroom walls. Our next steps include integrating some of the games into structured SEL lessons, allowing students to reflect on teamwork, patience, and perseverance. Your support has made a lasting impact, and because of you, rainy days are now filled with laughter, learning, and connection. Thank you for bringing so much joy to our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1761081866216,"projectUrl":"project/rainy-day-recess-fun/9826082/","projectTitle":"Rainy Day Recess Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hinojosa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9828243_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747632406033","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9828243"},{"teacherId":9828243,"projectId":9209012,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has been transformed into a more engaging and dynamic learning environment! The new resources have made an immediate impact. One of the highlights so far has been our recent hands-on science exploration unit, where students used the materials to build models, conduct simple experiments, and record observations like real scientists. Watching them collaborate, problem-solve, and get excited about learning has been nothing short of inspiring.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity. Many couldn't believe the supplies were truly for them. One student exclaimed, \"It feels like a real lab in here now!\" These resources have not only enriched our academic lessons but also boosted students' confidence and creativity. They're asking more questions, trying new things, and taking ownership of their learning in ways I hadn't seen before.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're diving deeper into our next project: designing community improvement plans using what we've learned about science, math, and social studies. With the materials you helped provide, students can create prototypes, posters, and presentations to share their ideas with others. Your support is shaping their learning journey in powerful ways—and we are so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1746785318354,"projectUrl":"project/room-20-treasure-box-is-no-box-like-othe/9209012/","projectTitle":"Room 20 Treasure Box Is No Box Like other.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hinojosa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9828243_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747632406033","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9828243"},{"teacherId":7119506,"projectId":9036157,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity I was able to celebrate and reward my class family. I was able to restock my prize box, class store, and birthday bin. My treasure box is just one of many ways I have built PBIS into my class. When my scholars are caught being good, I give them a ticket. They put their name on the ticket and on Fun Fridays I pull several tickets. I also reward the winners of class games such as Blooket or Wewillwrite. It helps create a friendly sense of community and competition.\r\n My class store allows my scholars to buy specific prizes. These are earned through a schoolwide PBIS system. Any teacher or SSA can reward a student with a point, and it goes into their virtual bank. Points are used to purchase things from either the school store or the class store. My class loves to shop from the store I set up because it is geared towards them and they take pride in having such a big class store!\r\n Your donations are so appreciated and valued. I am a big believer in rewarding the behavior you want to see. And once something is earned in my class, it can never be taken away. I don't take away tickets, points, or rewards. I feel taking things away once earned makes earning something meaningless and not a big deal. I want my class to know I am proud of them, and they are loved and safe in my class. Giving them little trinkets may not seem like it helps realize those goals. But helping me keep my word and show my pride towards them does. They know they can trust the positive incentives in my class. Thank you. Thank you for helping me build the type of environment they deserve.","fullyFundedDate":1742582675715,"projectUrl":"project/positive-rewards-for-a-positively-amazin/9036157/","projectTitle":"Positive Rewards for a Positively Amazing Class!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Marrs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7119506_orig.jpg?crop=1126,1126,x0,y240&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732160631277","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7119506"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54407","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":789,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":54,"percentAsian":15,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":59,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"23.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":77.5,"schoolId":54407,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Brock Elliot Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Brock Elliot Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/manteca-unified-school-district/brock-elliot-elementary-school/54407"}
