Many of my students came to school hungry or without access to snacks throughout the day, which often made it difficult for them to stay engaged, participate in discussions, and complete challenging academic tasks. By providing a wide variety of individually packaged snacks and protein options, this project created a more supportive and welcoming classroom environment where students felt cared for and comfortable. These resources also helped reduce stress and distractions, improve focus during instruction, and encourage students to remain present and motivated throughout the school day. Ultimately, this project supported not only students' physical needs, but also their emotional well-being and academic success by ensuring that hunger was never a barrier to learning.","fullyFundedDate":1746786148561,"projectUrl":"project/food-for-hungry-high-school-students/9088932/","projectTitle":"Food for Hungry High School Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Etling","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8563493_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723362749895","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jordyn-etling"},{"teacherId":8563493,"projectId":9541115,"letterContent":"This DonorsChoose project had a positive impact on my classroom by improving organization, supporting literacy instruction, and creating a more engaging and student-centered learning environment.
