A well-stocked classroom library helped foster a love of reading, encouraged independent learning, and supported literacy development for students at a variety of reading levels and interests. By providing books that reflected different cultures, perspectives, and experiences, the library created a more inclusive learning environment where all students could see themselves represented and feel connected to what they read. These resources also supported classroom instruction by encouraging critical thinking, discussion, and curiosity beyond the textbook.\r\n\r\nIn addition to supporting academic growth, the classroom library helped create a positive and welcoming classroom culture. Students who had regular access to books were more likely to build confidence as readers, strengthen communication skills, and develop empathy through exposure to different viewpoints and stories. The library served as a space for exploration, creativity, and personal growth, allowing students to discover new interests and deepen existing passions. This donation directly benefited students by providing opportunities for meaningful learning experiences both inside and outside of the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1771179541188,"projectUrl":"project/stories-that-stick-growing-our-ya-colle/10094437/","projectTitle":"Stories That Stick: Growing Our YA Collection","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cleary","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10433103"},{"teacherId":10295442,"projectId":9779965,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity. Teaching is very challenging. It is near impossible when there is a language barrier. The minimum requirement for NJ schools is to provide an education to all students, including those that do not speak english. \r\n\r\nMy school district takes that few steps further by supporting our english learners with an extra teacher in the classroom and an ELL (english language learner) class to help support their language acuisition.\r\n\r\nI have an ELL teacher in the class who helps me with our english learners. However, her second lanuage is French. The pocket translator really helps me out. I can only imagine how difficult and frustrating it must be to be a high school student who is trying the learn the language, coursework and struggles of being a teenager. I always enjoy seeing my former students who are now fluent english speakers!\r\n\r\nAlso, thank you for the pointer and the light covers. My room looks so pretty!
