Teaching is very challenging. It is near impossible when there is a language barrier. The minimum requirement for NJ schools is to provide an education to all students, including those that do not speak english. \r\n\r\nMy school district takes that few steps further by supporting our english learners with an extra teacher in the classroom and an ELL (english language learner) class to help support their language acuisition.\r\n\r\nI have an ELL teacher in the class who helps me with our english learners. However, her second lanuage is French. The pocket translator really helps me out. I can only imagine how difficult and frustrating it must be to be a high school student who is trying the learn the language, coursework and struggles of being a teenager. I always enjoy seeing my former students who are now fluent english speakers!\r\n\r\nAlso, thank you for the pointer and the light covers. My room looks so pretty! I hope God continues to bless you so your generosity can be spread to others.","fullyFundedDate":1761233121368,"projectUrl":"project/breaking-through-the-language-barrier/9779965/","projectTitle":"Breaking Through the Language barrier.","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bonnet","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10295442"},{"teacherId":9728525,"projectId":9264774,"letterContent":"On behalf of my students and myself, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your generous donation of snacks to our classroom. Your support made a meaningful impact not just on our daily routine, but on the overall learning environment in ways I hadn't anticipated.\r\n\r\nAs you may know, many of my students face challenges that extend far beyond the classroom. Something as simple as a healthy snack during the day can make a significant difference in their ability to focus, participate, and stay energized. Since receiving your donation, I've integrated the snacks into our daily classroom routine. Each afternoon, students are given a short break where they can refuel with a snack, and it's been incredible to see how much more engaged and alert they are once they eat something. It has truly helped maintain a positive atmosphere and improved attention spans.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful uses of your donation came during a recent classroom project. We were working on a group-based presentation unit, and I used the snack break as a built-in time for collaboration. I noticed that students became more relaxed and communicative when they had something to eat. This helped foster teamwork, and I saw quieter students open up and participate more during our prep time. Some students who are more on the shy side have even come to my classroom during lunch to ask me if they could please have a snack because they forgot to bring money for lunch and/or didn't bring anything with them. \r\n\r\nI wish you could have seen their faces when they first saw the boxes of snacks arrive! For many students, it was an unexpected treat, and their eyes lit up as they looked through the variety of options. Even though my students are high schoolers, they are still kids and they want to succeed. It was a moment of surprise and joy—one student exclaimed, \"Wow, thank you so much\" It's rare to see such pure excitement over something so simple, and it reminded me how impactful kindness and generosity can be.\r\n\r\nI also plan to set up a \"snack and study\" corner for final assessment preparation, where students can review materials in a relaxed, welcoming environment while enjoying a snack. \r\n\r\nYour contribution has done more than provide food—it has shown my students that people in the wider community believe in them and care about their success. That sense of support and encouragement is immeasurable.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your kindness, generosity, and belief in the power of education. Your gift has made a tangible difference in our classroom, and we are deeply grateful","fullyFundedDate":1746555355833,"projectUrl":"project/end-of-the-year-snacks-for-kids/9264774/","projectTitle":"End of the Year Snacks for Kids","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kostis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9728525"},{"teacherId":8932175,"projectId":9120857,"letterContent":"Thank you for contributions to my project. The impact that our new speaker has had on our class as been amazing! My students with special needs love the fact that we have access to music during class. They are always coming to me with requests of songs that they would like to hear during our activities. The speaker also affords us the ability to have a dance session each week which helps in preparing them for the special unified prom that we have at the end of each year. \r\n\r\nWe have some students that have really gravitated to speaker and the music that is played. Some students have come accustomed to hearing songs that are \"their song\", an example is some of our students enjoy superhero's and when a particular superhero them song is played they become so excited which encourages them to move and exercise. \r\n\r\nThis is speaker is a special tool that I look forward to using for years to come, thank you!!","fullyFundedDate":1740538435476,"projectUrl":"project/pe-dance-party/9120857/","projectTitle":"P.E.
