Because of your generous donations, we are able to keep our new materials safely stowed away and our students have somewhere comfortable to sit.\r\n\r\nThe lockable cabinet we requested was much-needed as it has given us a safe place to store our new purchases. Through another grant, we were able to order, among other things, new microscopes with the latest technology. Not only can students look through them to view the slides, but they also connect to our laptops as well as our phones, allowing us to share our discoveries with the entire classroom at the same time. These are tucked away in our cabinet so they can be enjoyed for years to come!\r\n\r\nThe seating we requested has been enjoyed by our students. The first time the students saw the lab and all the supplies, they were in awe. They practically ran to find a seat and hear/see everything our lab had to offer. Several classes have used the lab and they enjoy having the ability to move around the light-weight stools as needed. Having that flexibility has allowed our students to collaborate with each other in a new, fun environment.\r\n\r\nMy school district adopted a new science curriculum this year, which is packed with hands-on inquiry activities. In just the last couple weeks, we have already used our lab this year to see what happens when you soak gummy worms in various liquids for 24 hours (they swell and fall apart - unless it was soaked in rubbing alcohol; then it was perfectly preserved) and we're watching a seed, which is inside a baggie with a wet paper towel, hopefully grow through multiple stages. \r\n\r\nWe could not have done this without you. We sincerely appreciate the gift that you have given our students.","fullyFundedDate":1742553846812,"projectUrl":"project/our-science-lab-needs-solutions/9179519/","projectTitle":"Our Science Lab Needs Solutions!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Irwin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9561279_orig.jpg?crop=956,956,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742347558420","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9561279"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_92172","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":108,"numTeachers":9,"percentFrplEligible":49,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":96,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":92172,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Briceville Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Briceville Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/tennessee/anderson-county-school-district/briceville-elementary-school/92172"}
