For our students, who are all part of our Title I population, no \"money\" is required. Just a \"Golden Ticket\". It's a simple plan. \"Be nice. Work hard,\" is our school motto. \r\n\r\nAs an educator with 37 years of teaching experience, I have noticed a very significant shift in reading skills and habits. Today's learner generally has a shorter attention span, is highly influenced by gaming/social media, and can usually follow fewer directions at one time. We chunk informational text as well as fiction into smaller \"bite-size\" pieces so learners can succeed. Using your gift, we selected many shorter chapter books or picture books to continue to stress reading practice.\r\n\r\nI know there are many causes competing for your attention and monetary gifts, so I want you to know we sincerely appreciate your support of Donors Choose. The new materials, such as the Worldwide Gator Skin Softi-7 Balls, Champion Sports Rounded Edge Foam Discs, and Sportime Cage Ball, have not only enhanced our activities but also opened up new possibilities for learning. For instance, the colorful Gator Skin balls allowed us to focus on developing hand-eye coordination through fun, low-stress games. \r\n\r\nBecause of the high-quality equipment provided, I've been able to introduce a wider variety of activities, particularly around teamwork, fitness, and gross motor development. I am excited to incorporate the Stepping Stones into an obstacle course. This not only tests the students' physical skills but will also challenge their problem-solving and communication abilities as they work in teams. We've also used the Covelico Exercise Dice to make fitness games more interactive, where students roll the dice to determine different physical challenges to complete, adding an element of surprise and fun to each class.\r\n\r\nThe excitement among the students when they first saw the new materials was contagious. Many of them were eager to try the Sportime Cage Ball, which sparked an immediate interest in trying new sports and activities. This enthusiasm has translated into a deeper sense of engagement, as they are now more motivated to actively participate in class. The equipment has made it easier for me to meet the individual needs of my students, providing varied resources that allow them to engage with physical activity in ways that are both enjoyable and educational.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly thankful for your generosity in helping improve our students learning environment.","fullyFundedDate":1757104174978,"projectUrl":"project/level-up-b-elementary-pe/9581546/","projectTitle":"Level Up B. We start each month with a reading challenge tied to holidays or themes, and students are asked to read 4-5 books as well as write a summary about each book. This is required of all grade levels, with a set of expectations based on age-appropriateness. When students turn in their reading challenge log, they read it to me and I offer praise and affirmations for reading. If their log is complete, they're invited to visit the Cub Store to choose a reward--these range from diaries, novels, \"mystery boxes\" and sports equipment to school supplies. These students are then excited to complete the next month's challenge. Thanks to you!\r\n\r\nYour generosity has enabled us to complete this program and we are very grateful. It is so tough to lure our students away from their gaming devices and they miss the joy of completing a novel.
