I am a retired Physical Education/Health teacher of over 30 years. During my time teaching in my primary school we had a great deal of success with juggling. Success begins in pre-school with children learning about the different color scarves, how they float and react in space. Kindergarteners learn to cross the midline while tossing the scarves. This has been proven to increase reading competency. The students also learn by using the scarves in active games such as \"get the fox tail\". Agility, sportsmanship and various other skills are practiced. The older students add a 3rd scarf to the juggling mix. The eye-hand coordination is improved, mental focus and just plain fun! Kids love helping each other and watching their peers. The bean bags were used by the more advanced students. \r\nI borrowed all this equipment from my old school and wanted to make sure in the years to the come the returning teacher would have these items to continue enriching the lives and minds f the students. I have no photos as I am no longer there. Thank you once again for contributing to a worthy learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1746786921877,"projectUrl":"project/juggling-fun-in-pe-to-increase-reading-f/9126969/","projectTitle":"Juggling Fun in PE to Increase Reading Fluency!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Harvey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9929799"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82393","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":247,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":18,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":72,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"8.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":82393,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Brass Castle Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Brass Castle Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/washington-twp-school-district-warren/brass-castle-elementary-school/82393"}
