Every chance they get, students are crowding around the bookshelves, burying their noses in books, and discussing with each other which book is next on their \"to read\" list. They take pride in their new books, with several students tending to the shelves daily to keep everything organized and maintained.\r\n\r\nThe boost to our classroom library with this fund has made them even more excited to read than they already were. I was able to buy a shelf to display our new picture books, and stock our new and existing shelves with books specifically chosen to cater to the interests of my students. Everyone has something they are excited to read, from beginner chapter books to middle grade novels, from stories of fairies to artistically rendered non-fiction picture books, books with lots of pictures and books with lots of words, graphic novels, next in favorite series... and yet they are still so excited to read that they have already filled a page with book requests for our next grant! \r\n\r\nTHANK you for stoking this fire! The passion for reading that they develop now by having access to quality books will foster a lifelong love of reading and learning.","fullyFundedDate":1744243653068,"projectUrl":"project/third-grade-classroom-library/9194165/","projectTitle":"Third Grade Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Edwards","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8973044_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722315654429","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8973044"},{"teacherId":8667740,"projectId":9595888,"letterContent":"The cushions you so generously donated to have helped my students be more comfortable while they are working. My class really appreciates being more comfortable at their seats during the school day. They are more focused and less restless in more comfortable chairs.\r\n\r\nWe can use the cushions to sit on the floor too, which greatly enhances our seating options during our silent reading and group book project time. Cushions can be moved much more easily and quickly than chairs to sit close together and complete assignments together. Thank you so much for your donation!\r\n\r\nThe light covers are also greatly appreciated. Many times during the day the students ask to work with the lights off because the glare of florescent lights is too bright for their eyes. These beautiful light covers gently dim the light and allow them to be focused on their work without straining their eyes. Looking up at the trees displayed in the image is also very relaxing for students who have a lot of anxiety.","fullyFundedDate":1756569279065,"projectUrl":"project/settling-into-learning-with-comfortable/9595888/","projectTitle":"Settling Into Learning With Comfortable Cushions!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pfisterer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8667740_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y80&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1664912843298","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8667740"},{"teacherId":8667740,"projectId":7601794,"letterContent":"My students really appreciated your donation for this project. To really see where their food comes from and to enjoy the \"fruits\" of their labor!\r\nWith our worm bin the students are curious and engaged and full of questions. We enjoyed donating our scrap food to it, watching the worms grow, learning about worms. Your thoughtful contribution has already had a remarkable impact on our students and their love for reading.\r\n\r\nWith these novels, our students have been able to dive into new worlds, explore diverse perspectives, and enhance their critical thinking skills. Many of the stories have sparked meaningful discussions, broadened horizons, and inspired creativity in ways that go far beyond the written page. For some of our students, these books have been their first encounter with stories that truly resonate with their own experiences, while for others, the novels have provided a window into lives and cultures different from their own.\r\n\r\nReading is such an essential part of learning, and your donation has helped to build a more dynamic and enriching learning environment. The novels have fostered a love of literature and given our students the tools to think more deeply and express themselves more clearly. In addition, having access to these books has made it possible for students to engage in independent reading projects, book clubs, and even creative writing exercises inspired by the stories they've read.\r\n\r\nWe cannot thank you enough for your support in helping to cultivate a lifelong passion for reading among our students. Your contribution has already begun to make a significant impact on our students and their learning experience.\r\n\r\nThe ukuleles have brought a new level of excitement and engagement to our music program. Many of our students are being introduced to an instrument for the very first time, and the joy on their faces as they strum and create music together is simply priceless. The ukuleles allow them to explore their creativity, develop their musical skills, and build confidence in ways that will last a lifetime.\r\n\r\nBeyond just learning to play an instrument, the students are gaining important life skills such as collaboration, discipline, and perseverance. The ukuleles have also fostered a greater sense of community within the classroom, as students work together to practice and perform. It's incredible to see how music can unite and inspire them in such a positive way.\r\n\r\nYour donation has made all of this possible, and we cannot thank you enough for your kindness and support.
