This allows them to slow down and really think about their problem-solving process rather than just focusing on the final product.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting things for my students is being able to document and share their work. During our STEM challenges, students build structures and inventions using everyday materials, and then use the iPad to photograph their creations, record explanations, and show how their designs function. The technology helps them practice communication skills while also strengthening their understanding of engineering concepts. They love taking turns being the \"class photographer\" and proudly capturing their classmates' work.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who are usually quiet during whole-group discussions have really thrived with this technology. Using the iPad gives them a new way to express their ideas. Students can work independently and complete their work without distractions. I have even been able to work with students or small groups without distractions from the rest of the class and what they are working on at their desks.\r\n\r\nWhen the headphones arrived the students were very excited to see that they would be able to use headphones without wires, or that they would all be able to use headphones at the same time, without the thought of needing to share after their time was up. Before we used to have to discus safety with the wires either pulling over their iPad if they stood up, or had to adjust themselves so being able to go wireless was a great improvement.\r\n\r\nA couple of students who did not like to use iPads and do research or work on their iready reading or math, now don't mind because it's not as noisy in the backgound and they can hear better.
