The students love the stress balls and it is a big improvement from them tapping their pens constantly! The wipes are keeping the desks clean and the staff and students healthy. Staying healthy improves attendance for students and staff. I have put half the fidgets away and will take them out in a week or so to maintain a sense of novelty. One of my classes is halfway through the day and the students are either tired from lunch or tired because they are hungry. Some of them literally gasped when they walked in and saw them for the first time. The old chairs were pretty rough—wobbly, uncomfortable, and not exactly ideal for a fast-paced culinary classroom. But now? Game-changer. The stools make it so much easier for students to move around, collaborate, and actually focus on their work instead of trying to balance on an unstable chair.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far happened during our recent baking lab. Students were sitting comfortably while discussing how their dough was rising (or, in some cases, not rising) and troubleshooting their recipes. Instead of fidgeting or getting distracted, they were fully engaged in the process, bouncing ideas off each other and really thinking critically about what they were doing. Something as simple as better seating has completely changed the way they interact with the material—and each other.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're gearing up for our restaurant simulation project, where students will develop their own restaurant concepts, design menus, and cook dishes as if they were running a real kitchen. The stools are going to be so helpful during planning sessions, giving students a comfortable place to brainstorm, sketch out their ideas, and collaborate before heading into the kitchen.\r\n\r\nHonestly, I can't thank you enough for making this possible. When we first received the materials all of my students were so excited. They were there to be part of the unboxing experience and could not wait to start using it all. A goal I have in my classroom is to make it warm, inviting, and to have a safe place where students can feel comfortable coming to learn each day. One of your donations was black binders. These binders have become an essential part of our learning and growth. Students were asked at the start of the year to bring in a binder to help keep their materials for each unit organized. The goal of the binder was to have a place where students could put their homework, extra notes, quizzes, and feedback to keep track and monitor their progress throughout the semester. With your donation we were able to make sure every student had a binder if they were unable to provide one for themselves. \r\nWe also were generously gifted some flexible seating options for our classroom. This has created a more welcoming environment that students look forward to being in day after day. By creating this positive welcoming environment students have started to spend more time in my classroom before or after school helping build a positive student-teacher relationship which has led to increased student engagement and participation. It has also been a nice option during class time that students have had If they want to use them. We also love our new digital clock.
