The class set of Ghost by Jason Reynolds will continue to make a meaningful impact on Bohls students this school year and beyond.\r\n\r\n\"Ghost\" is a powerful, relatable story that speaks to many of the challenges middle schoolers face, from personal struggles to the importance of finding one's path. I chose this novel because I saw my students in its pages—resilient, determined, and searching for their place in the world. I'm hopeful that the teachers at Bohls will incorporate this text into their curriculum this year, using it to spark rich discussions and foster a love of reading among their students.\r\n\r\nThanks to your donation, hundreds of students will have the opportunity to experience this story in a shared, classroom setting. Your support ensures that students—especially in a Title I school where resources can be limited—gain access to meaningful, high-interest literature that can inspire and transform.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in this project and in the power of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1744290668144,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-6th-graders-through-literatur/9223495/","projectTitle":"Empowering 6th Graders Through Literature","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Robertson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2578095_orig.jpg?crop=1777,1776,x0,y88&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744209841949","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2578095"},{"teacherId":9661253,"projectId":8654420,"letterContent":"Thanks to your kindness and support, my students now have the classroom supplies they need to stay engaged, organized, and ready to learn every day! From highlighters that help them annotate texts to notebooks that allow them to express their thoughts, these materials have made a tangible difference in our classroom. One of the first things we did with our new supplies was a close reading activity where students used their highlighters to mark important details and analyze the text. It was incredible to see them so focused, actively engaging with their reading instead of just skimming.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the supplies, their excitement was undeniable. Many of them immediately grabbed new pencils and notebooks, eager to start writing. Some even asked if they could take extra materials home to continue their work outside of class. Having these resources readily available has eliminated the stress of students not having what they need to succeed. Now, instead of worrying about a missing highlighter or running out of paper, they can fully concentrate on their learning.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these supplies will continue to support our daily lessons, writing projects, and critical thinking activities. Whether we are annotating literature, brainstorming for essays, or working on interactive group tasks, your generosity ensures that my students have everything they need to succeed.
