The items that my classroom has received have made such a difference. My students were so excited to see the new lights hung and enjoy relaxing afternoons with the bright classroom lights off. They also enjoy the opportunity to have an organized STEM area to play in after they complete their morning work. The bins provided them with a great way to carry and keep their materials organized. \r\n Our library area has been transformed with the addition of not only the lights, but the new seating area and book bins. The students enjoy choosing a 'reading buddy' and a book to be able to sit on the bench and read. This has become a favorite spot in our classroom. The book bins have allowed both our picture and chapter books to be organized and easily accessible to the students. They have become more responsible with returning the books to their proper places. Both the students and I thank you for your generosity in making our classroom learning environment a better place. It will be something that future 2nd graders can continue to enjoy as well.","fullyFundedDate":1752602805707,"projectUrl":"project/literacy-looks-good-on-you/9408953/","projectTitle":"Literacy Looks Good on You!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Belles","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5558093_orig.jpg?crop=686,686,x0,y9&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721924078817","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-belles"},{"teacherId":8913589,"projectId":8671447,"letterContent":"I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to share insights into how the development of social and coping skills has positively impacted our students, fostering not only academic success but also emotional well-being and interpersonal growth.\r\n\r\nOver the past couple months, we have witnessed firsthand how students equipped with strong social skills are able to navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom with greater ease. These students demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively in group activities, communicate clearly with peers and teachers, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. The importance of these skills cannot be overstated, as they play a crucial role in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where everyone feels heard and respected.\r\n\r\nMoreover, students who have been guided in developing effective coping strategies have shown remarkable resilience in the face of stress and adversity. Whether managing academic pressure, personal difficulties, or changes in their social lives, these students are better equipped to handle setbacks without becoming overwhelmed. Through techniques such as mindfulness, positive self-talk, and problem-solving, they are able to regain focus and maintain motivation, ensuring continued progress in their studies.\r\n\r\nThe benefits of these social and coping skills extend beyond individual growth; they contribute to the overall health of the school community. As students model these behaviors, they encourage a culture of empathy, patience, and support. By recognizing and addressing emotional challenges, both for themselves and others, they create an environment where everyone is empowered to thrive.\r\n\r\nWe believe that by continuing to prioritize the development of social and coping skills, we are not only preparing students for academic success but also equipping them with the tools necessary for success in life beyond school. These skills, learned and refined through everyday interactions, will serve them well as they navigate the complexities of their future endeavors.\r\n\r\nThank you for your support of our efforts to nurture these essential skills in our students. Together, we are helping them build a strong foundation for lifelong success.","fullyFundedDate":1729700831491,"projectUrl":"project/sel-and-coping-skills/8671447/","projectTitle":"SEL and Coping Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fisher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8913589_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1672704838158","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/miss-fisher22"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_89404","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":405,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":70,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":64.0,"schoolId":89404,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bloomsburg Memorial Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bloomsburg Memorial Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/pennsylvania/bloomsburg-area-school-district/bloomsburg-memorial-elementary-school/89404"}
