Your donation of the Yoto players and recorded stories has opened up a world of reading and literature for our youngest learners, even as their decoding and early reading skills are just beginning to emerge.\r\n\r\nThe Yoto players are placed in our class library, where students have the freedom to interact with stories in the way that feels most meaningful to them. They can read books independently, listen to stories using the Yoto players, or act out familiar tales with felt characters on our story board. The Yoto players, without fail, are always the first choice. Students have begun not only listening to stories but also engaging with them—using puppets, felt pieces, and the books themselves to bring the narratives to life as they listen.\r\n\r\nThis opportunity to hear high-quality texts while exploring the books has helped students build strong concepts of print, deepen comprehension, and ask and answer meaningful questions about key story elements—all without needing adult support. With the splitters and headphones you provided, students can enjoy interest-based reading opportunities and have thoughtful book discussions with their partners. Not only are they building their own knowledge, but they are becoming a true community of book-loving learners who feel empowered rather than limited by their current decoding abilities.\r\n\r\nBefore we had the Yoto players, students could read with a partner only by looking at pictures and interacting with familiar texts. Now, they can choose from a wide variety of books, learn alongside one another, and grow their love of reading in a space that feels calm, welcoming, and engaging. Our library has become one of their favorite places in the classroom—a spot they return to again and again.\r\n\r\nI cannot overstate the impact these devices and the books you provided have had in helping create a joyful, engaged community of young learners who truly love to read and love coming to school. We are so grateful for your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1754940004832,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-young-readers-through-story-a/9524512/","projectTitle":"Empowering Young Readers Through Story and Sound","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Keinath","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10106172"},{"teacherId":259033,"projectId":9278681,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donations to our \"Showing Our True Colors\" project. It also has a heated build plate that allows us to make models without additional filament (the plastic that is used to print) as a support. This allows for more cost effective printing. \r\nWe are currently planning new projects for next year and the future. The students are so excited with the possibilities ahead. This new 3D printer will allow us to do two or more projects with students as young as preschool because of the simplicity of the programs used for designing and printing, and with the speed and efficiency of the 3D printer.\r\nAll of this would not be possible without the generosity of donors like yourself.
