This has become a favorite classroom activity and a wonderful learning opportunity. Students help set up the cart, make the popcorn, organize supplies, and prepare the store for customers. Through this project, they are practicing important real-life and executive functioning skills such as planning, organizing materials, taking turns, following multi-step directions, and working as a team.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the popcorn machine, they were so excited! Many of them were amazed to watch the popcorn pop and could not wait to help run the store. It quickly became a highlight of our week, and students take great pride in their jobs—whether they are scooping popcorn, greeting customers, or helping manage supplies.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our students are gaining confidence while learning practical skills they will use far beyond the classroom. I have several students in my classroom this year that speak very quietly. In second grade, we work on decoding new words and reading fluency every day. With help from the Q-Ball every student can hear every student who is reading. \r\n\r\nAfter teaching the rules and expectations of the Q-Ball, my students ask every day if we can use the Q-ball.
