These book have already come in handy! We are lucky enough that our school is adject to state land. Once the snow melted and it stayed above 40 degrees we started taking our students back outside. We have a few trails that start at the school and travel up the hill to the state forestry land. \r\nI have taken my advisory and environmental classed out on this trail. They truly love going outside, and beg to go out whenever we can. While walking on the trail we have taken the new field guides along! We have spotted several local plants and fungi. With the help of the books have been able to identify both native and invasive plants. Some of the species we have found are: honeysuckle, garlic mustard, wild strawberry; trout lilly and even some morels!\r\nWith the field guides, students have learned how to identify these organisms without the aide of technology. We have discussed how field guides work, and best practices while out in the field. Again, thank you so much for uplifting my classroom and spreading the love of nature and the outdoors to the next generation.","fullyFundedDate":1767202507956,"projectUrl":"project/field-guides-for-environmental-and-scien/9705854/","projectTitle":"Field Guides for Environmental and Science!!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Crane","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6821329_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731254877595","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-crane8"},{"teacherId":6821329,"projectId":9705841,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation of sublimation supplies to our maker lab at Big Picture Ellicottville. The students have really started getting the hang of the process. Students have been very busy designing their own sweatshirts. Students are using Canva and other editing software to create unique designs that fit their personalities. Once they have created something spectacular, we then print out the design using the sublimation printer. Then the students use the press to heat and transfer the design onto their sweatshirt.\r\nSome things students have put on their sweatshirts are: photos of their first car, the Olympic rings, quotes that have meaning to them, their favorite animals and our very own Big Picture Ellicottville Logo.\r\nThis addition to our program has been truly inspiring. At first students were hesitant to try, in case they messed it up. But once they saw others wearing their own creation, they were hooked. Thank you so much for your generosity. You truly have inspired students who never felt inspired before.","fullyFundedDate":1767202508495,"projectUrl":"project/lets-sublimate-in-steam/9705841/","projectTitle":"Let's Sublimate in STEAM!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Crane","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6821329_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1731254877595","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-crane8"},{"teacherId":6821329,"projectId":10049965,"letterContent":"Ann you so much for your donation. We then printed and cut the design. The students then used a heat press and put their design on the hoodies.
