Daphnia are such awesome organisms, and we have been studying them alot! We looked at their heart rate at cold and warm temperatures. We watched them digest different foods, and was able to see their digestive system in action. We have them in different aquariums to watch them grow as well. We love that we have two different species as well! We have been comparing and contrasting the differences in size and how they function. The addition to live animals in the class has been so empowering to my students. It is so cool to see the daphnia up close and keep track of their life cycle as well.
