Through exploring real tools and materials, my students have developed a deeper understanding of what builders do and how structures are created. Instead of just talking about construction, they have been able to design, connect, build, and problem-solve on their own. They are learning how different materials work, how to make structures stable, and how tools can be used safely and effectively. These experiences have sparked curiosity, creativity, and confidence in ways that traditional lessons simply cannot.\r\n\r\nBeyond learning about tools and structures, the MakeDo kits have strengthened critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills. Students collaborate to plan their builds, test their ideas, make adjustments, and celebrate their successes together. They are developing perseverance as they figure out how to make their designs stand tall and stable. Watching them take on the role of \"builders\" has been incredible. They speak the language of engineers, share ideas with one another, and take pride in their creations.\r\n\r\nWe would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you for supporting our project with the Air Toobz. The Air Toobz have allowed our students to actively engage in hands-on problem solving as they design and redesign their creations. They experiment with angles, pathways, and connections to see how air moves objects through the tubes, learning through trial and error in a fun and meaningful way. This experience has strengthened their critical thinking skills and encouraged them to ask questions, test ideas, and work collaboratively to find solutions.\r\n\r\nWe are so incredibly grateful to all of the generous donors who made this possible.
