The resources you provided have truly transformed our learning environment, directly impacting both the students' well-being and the daily efficiency of instruction. The most profoundly positive change has been the creation of our dedicated Calm Down Corner, now a highly utilized and essential part of my classroom. My students thoroughly enjoy the corner and the comfortable carpet I was able to install - it being a place where they can spend time away from the dedicated learning spaces. They often go there during independent work times to sit and read quietly or they utilize the new materials we received to re-regulate themselves during moments of frustration or overstimulation. This dedicated space has empowered them to take ownership of their emotional health and has significantly improved focus and engagement across the board.\r\n\r\nBeyond the social-emotional benefits, your support has provided a critical boost to our instructional capacity through the addition of a printer, markers, a paper shelf, and more! While seemingly small items, these resources has been a life saver, especially the printer, when our main school printer goes down or is unavailable, allowing me to immediately print out our activities for the day. This project has ensured our learning momentum is never lost due to technical issues, or lack of resources, and guarantees every student has the materials they need precisely when they need them. This project has sincerely helped me on my journey into my first year of teaching and has created a more stable, productive, and nurturing classroom where my students feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn. I was out for surgery when all of the items came, so my students helped me bring them up to our room when I got back. They were really excited to try everything out. The wobble stools are both soothing and engaging without being a distraction.\r\nThe rubber chair bands were a definite hit. Each student got their own on their chair, so this makes it easier for them to concentrate when they feel the need to move or are struggling with learning something new.\r\nThe portable lap desks allow my students to work in different spaces around the room as they solve math problems together or discuss projects and take notes. Whether with a partner reading activity, or a read-aloud, each student will experience the ability to imagine and predict throughout the story. \r\nI pay quite a bit to help my students have the things they need in the classroom and sometimes outside of the classroom.
