The math games and manipulatives have helped my class grow and learn by leaps and bounds. My class is now scoring proficient and above on most common core math standards. Students have learned to collaborate and work together to solve problems in positive ways. Students have mastered math facts, how to make 10, doubles facts, and adding three numbers. Students have learned all about related addition and subtraction facts and place value. My class has learned geometry, time, and how to play games together to practice math skills. \r\nWhen I told my class about the donation, they were so excited to receive the new materials. Students cheered with joy when we unboxed all the new materials and games. I started running math stations in my class twice per week and students look forward to math group days. I noticed that attendance and engagement started to improve on the days we had math groups. Students told me that they look forward to math groups because it's their favorite thing to do at school. We have had so much fun building letters with our magnets and plastic line pieces. It was so neat to watch little lines and curves turn in to actual letters, and see the amazement on my students faces when they recognize what they created! They have also had so much fun creating pictures and exploring symmetry. \r\nThe light table tray has been a game changer. It has helped contain our materials when we use the light table. Our first activity was a letter hunt with rice and I can only imagine the mess that would have happened if we didn't have the tray. The students loved finding the letters in the tray and reinforcing sounds. \r\nThank you so much for your continued support to my, and other, classrooms.
