We have an entire dedicated Science Center now, and it is one of the hot spots of the classroom- everyone wants a turn in it! The table is such a perfect addition to our room, because students can spread out their materials and really have room to examine them. They also will have a workspace for experiments when we get to that.\r\nAs soon as all of our magnifying glasses came in we went on a nature walk around campus. We found great things to bring into the classroom to look at more closely. One of the greatest discoveries was that on a stick, there was actually a patch of moss growing on it. No one saw it outside, but after we put it in the magnifying case we were all able to see it. It was such a great experience to get up close with nature.\r\nWe are also really loving the magnets right now. We've learned how to lift things with magnets, and watched balls and disks repel each other also. We are finding all kinds of things that are magnetic throughout the room!\r\nThank you again for your support. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donations to my third-grade classroom. The whiteboard markers, dry erase sheets, crayons, colored pencils, pencils, and erasers have made a significant impact on our learning environment, and I wanted to share how we are using these resources.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement! The colorful crayons and pencil colors sparked their creativity, and they immediately began brainstorming ideas for our upcoming lessons. The dry erase sheets have allowed them to solve their Math and language problems on them and revise their ideas multiple times without wasting paper, fostering a sense of ownership in their work.\r\nThe whiteboard markers have become a staple in our daily lessons. During math time, we use them for interactive problem-solving sessions. Students take turns solving equations on the dry erase sheets, and the immediate feedback encourages a collaborative and engaging learning atmosphere. The students thrive on this interactive approach, and I have noticed an improvement in their confidence and participation.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity. Your support has truly enriched our classroom experience, and I am grateful for the positive impact it has had on my students' learning and creativity.","fullyFundedDate":1732836298080,"projectUrl":"project/inspiring-avid-scholars-building-a-fut/8537988/","projectTitle":"Inspiring Avid Scholars - Building a Future of Lifelong Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sooch","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9577113"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4061","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":419,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":60,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"20.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.1,"schoolId":4061,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Belshaw Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Belshaw Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/antioch-unified-school-district/belshaw-elementary-school/4061"}
