This technology has transformed the way my students approach learning and creativity. Many of our donors use technology at home, but perhaps don't realize the profound ways it can be applied in schools, especially in ways that build real-world skills. By introducing podcasting into our classroom, students are not just learning about technology—they are becoming creators, storytellers, and communicators. They are learning how to script, record, edit, and produce their own content, skills that will serve them in numerous fields, whether they pursue careers in media, technology, or beyond.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students the most about this project is the opportunity to have their voices heard. The ability to record and share their thoughts on topics they care about, knowing that their work could be listened to by anyone, anywhere, is truly empowering. For many, it's the first time they've experienced this level of responsibility and ownership of a project. The technology allows them to experiment, make mistakes, and improve—ultimately leading to a stronger sense of confidence in their abilities.\r\n\r\nWhile all my students have benefited from this project, there are a few who have truly thrived. One student, in particular, who has always been shy and struggled to speak in front of others, has completely blossomed through podcasting. By recording and editing their own voice, this student has gained a sense of confidence that is truly inspiring. Another student, who has a keen interest in technology, has become the go-to \"tech expert\" in the classroom, helping others navigate the equipment and editing software. These students, and many others, have discovered new passions, honed new skills, and found their voices through this project—none of which would have been possible without your support.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping make this incredible opportunity possible for our students. Your generosity has not only provided them with the tools they need to succeed, but has also given them the chance to dream bigger and achieve more than they ever thought possible.","fullyFundedDate":1746785985839,"projectUrl":"project/podcasting-for-future-innovators/9282456/","projectTitle":"Podcasting for Future Innovators","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Sims","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4927936"},{"teacherId":4927936,"projectId":7644455,"letterContent":"Discovering the World Through the Lens of Computer Science has been a transformational journey for my students. This initiative has opened their eyes to how deeply computer science impacts every part of our world—from the apps they use daily to the technology that powers careers they never imagined were within reach. Through engaging, hands-on learning experiences, my students have not only gained technical skills, but also developed critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities that will serve them for a lifetime.\r\n\r\nMany of my students come from under-resourced communities, where exposure to the world of STEM is limited. Through this experience, they've explored coding, digital storytelling, and real-world applications of technology in a way that's both empowering and inspiring. They've begun to understand that computer science isn't just about computers—it's a way of thinking and innovating that can shape the future. Watching their confidence grow as they build projects, collaborate with peers, and tackle new challenges has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.\r\n\r\nAs their teacher, I'm incredibly proud to guide them through this discovery. This initiative has not only sparked a new passion for technology in my classroom but has also planted seeds for future careers in computer science, engineering, and digital media. Together, we're breaking barriers and building a future where every student can see themselves as a creator, problem-solver, and leader in the tech world.","fullyFundedDate":1692027721138,"projectUrl":"project/discovering-the-world-through-the-lens-o/7644455/","projectTitle":"Discovering the World Through the Lens of Computer Science","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Sims","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4927936"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_17311","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":572,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":83,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"22.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":37.5,"schoolId":17311,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bellingrath Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bellingrath Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alabama/montgomery-public-schools/bellingrath-junior-high-school/17311"}
