Several students immediately pressed close to observe their colors, movements, and personalities. \r\n\r\nSince then, the lizards have become an incredible learning tool. Students are observing their behaviors, asking questions about why they change colors, researching their habitats, and recording notes like real scientists. They've begun connecting what they see to topics such as adaptations, food chains, and environmental needs. These daily interactions have transformed science from something they read about into something they experience. \r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to use the anoles in ongoing investigations--tracking changes over time, comparing behaviors, designing experimental about light and temperature, and building stronger scientific journals. Adding tennis balls to the bottoms of our desks has made it incredibly easy for students to transition between seating arrangements, whether they're shifting into partners, small groups, or independent work zones. Because students can quickly and quietly adjust the room, we're able to spend more time engaged in learning and less time rearranging our space.\r\n\r\nThe flexibility these \"sliders\" provide has encouraged more collaborative learning. Students feel empowered to move where they learn best, and the classroom now shifts naturally into the setup each lesson requires—whether it's a problem-solving crew, a research team, or a quiet solo mission. The addition of our new swivel Captain's Chair has brought an extra layer of excitement and motivation. Each day, one student earns the privilege of leading our \"fleet,\" and they take this role with pride. It has become a simple but powerful classroom incentive that builds community, responsibility, and joy.\r\n\r\nOverall, this project has helped create a more dynamic, student-centered classroom. In first grade, many students just need a little \"wiggle\" room to make it through the day. The exercise ball chairs that you donated to have helped 2 of these particular students in my classroom. \r\n The first day \"A\" used the chair, he sat still all day. He didn't get up and adjust his seat 20 times as he always had. It just seemed to fit him well. \"T\" also enjoyed the use of the chair though she used more as a bouncy seat. It helped her not be falling all over her regular chair. We've had to lay down some rules, but they both really do like sitting on the seat. Other children also have had the chance to sit on the chairs. They think it's just fun. \r\n As for the laminating sheets, it's a bit harder to show the impact. But having the use of the sheets at home allows me to get games and such prepared faster.
