They were especially excited about the fresh composition notebooks—each student proudly claimed one and immediately began writing their name on the cover. For many of them, having their very own sturdy journal felt like something special, and they've already started using them during writing workshop and math journaling.\r\n\r\nThe colored construction paper has been another huge hit. During a recent project, students used it to create foldables that helped them practice subtraction strategies. The bright colors made the work feel fun, and I could see students staying more engaged as they explained their thinking to classmates.\r\n\r\nThe basic supplies—pencils, glue sticks, copy paper, and tissues—might seem simple, but they've made a world of difference. My students can focus on learning instead of worrying about not having what they need. The sanitizers and disinfecting wipes are helping us keep our classroom safe and healthy so we can keep learning together.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we'll be using the notebooks and paper for an upcoming science unit where students will record observations and create interactive models. These resources ensure that every student has the tools to participate fully, and that's an incredible gift.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students what they need to learn, create, and feel confident each day. Your generosity has turned our classroom into a place filled with both resources and joy.","fullyFundedDate":1757514689114,"projectUrl":"project/stocked-for-success-essential-math-supp/9356331/","projectTitle":"Stocked for Success: Essential Math Supplies for 4th Grade Learners!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McAlpin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9555231_orig.jpg?crop=2080,2080,x0,y159&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1716480837818","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9555231"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_104931","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1002,"numTeachers":57,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":78,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":19,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.0,"schoolId":104931,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Belle Forest Community School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Belle Forest Community School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/tennessee/memphis-shelby-county-schools/belle-forest-community-school/104931"}
