Thank you so much for your incredible support and generosity in donating books to our classroom library. Your gift has made a meaningful impact on our students, sparking curiosity, deepening comprehension, and opening doors to new worlds through reading.\r\n Each book added to our shelves has become a gateway to discovery. I've watched students light up with excitement as they explore new genres, connect with characters, and share stories with one another. For many of them, these books are more than just pages—they're opportunities to grow as readers, thinkers, and empathetic individuals.\r\n When students are reading in my classroom, they sit comfortably where they choose and read for 15 to 20 minutes. Some students take notes during or after they have read, and others just reflect on what they read. Once a book has been completed, they take a short test to show how their skills have improved.\r\n Our 8th-grade girls are especially enjoying the new books because the plots and themes in the stories appeal to them. By offering a range of seating options—such as floor cushions, standing desks, wobble stools, and cozy nooks—students choose where they feel most focused and comfortable. This autonomy fosters a sense of ownership and mirrors the Montessori philosophy of student-led learning.\r\n\r\nMany students who previously struggled with attention or motivation have shown increased persistence and productivity during math work cycles. For example, those using wobble stools tend to maintain better focus during problem-solving tasks, while others who prefer floor seating report feeling less pressure and more relaxed, which boosts their confidence when tackling complex concepts.\r\n\r\n\r\nOverall, this approach empowers learners to take charge of their learning environment, improves emotional regulation, and enhances engagement with math content. It's become a powerful extension of Montessori principles—where movement and choice meet focus and mastery.","fullyFundedDate":1746785444209,"projectUrl":"project/differentiated-seating-in-montessori/9266796/","projectTitle":"Differentiated Seating in Montessori","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Womack","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9697703_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724345040296","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9697703"},{"teacherId":9697703,"projectId":9034556,"letterContent":"Thank you for your support in getting my students manipulatives that help them to better understand Mathematics. I encouraged the students to know that they were there but that I didn't have enough for everyone. Students were instructed to get an eraser as they needed it and return it so that the materials would last, and others would be able to use it. The next step in the project is to try to cover the gap so each student can have their individual eraser.","fullyFundedDate":1735931932893,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-essentials-shipment-2025-01-0/9027816/","projectTitle":"Classroom Essentials Shipment: 2025-01-03","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Womack","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9697703_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724345040296","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9697703"},{"teacherId":9697703,"projectId":8689385,"letterContent":"Since receiving the donation my students have been able to receive snacks as incentives for doing well.
