My students love drawing pictures and writing a few words to go along with them, and I know they'll be excited to start writing sentences soon! We just started using the Lakeshore Accelerate Math! My students have been absolutely thrilled to dive into learning with these engaging resources.\r\n\r\nThe Accelerate Math! Comparing Numbers Center, Simple Subtraction Instant Learning Center, and Numbers & Counting Write & Wipe Boards have been wonderful tools for building math skills. The students are becoming more confident with comparing numbers, subtraction, and overall number fluency. They've also had a great time using the Twist & Turn 3-Letter and 4-Letter Word Builders. These hands-on tools are really helping them practice sounding out and writing words—and they're having so much fun while doing it!\r\n\r\nOne of their favorite activities has been making necklaces with beads. It was not only a fun, creative project, but also a meaningful way to reinforce skills like patterning, counting, and addition. They're already asking when we'll do it again! The pencil-size zipper pouches have been a wonderful addition as well. They're perfect for organizing smaller center materials and make it easy for each student to keep track of their dry-erase markers and erasers. The variety of construction paper was another big hit. The students loved using the colorful paper to design their own monsters and then write about their creations. Everything in VPK is a pretty big deal, so we had a grand unveiling and introduced the new individualized desks to the students. I showed them how awesome they were and explained that now that they will have their own space, and they will be able to get so many more points in their games to get ready for kindergarten, and they have!! \r\n\r\nThese desks were specifically purchased for computer use, to give each child some privacy while they work, while maintaining correct posture, wrist mobility, and flexible seating. My goal is to always make learning enjoyable, and the students have really embraced the new lap desks because now they are more comfortable in their work environment. Usage rates have increased from 80% to 98% since implemented and children are starting to get \"new games\" meaning they are completing previous tasks in the time allotted. \r\n\r\nThis has been such a great addition to our classroom, and I intent to use it in other ways as well. Students can begin using them when working on individualized work during free choice, such as puzzles, art, writing, and math to stay on task and remain focused.
