They had to write step by step directions, list the materials and create a drawing. \r\n\r\nStudents worked in pairs throughout this project. To get students excited and collect some data we built three different prototypes in a smaller scale. We had 5 samples of each prototype. After dropping the prototypes, we reviewed the data and discussed which prototype worked well and why. \r\n\r\nStudents used this data to help design their egg project. \r\n\r\nThe egg drop event was scheduled on the second to last day of school. We dropped 30 egg drop designs off the roof!! \r\n\r\nThere was great success for many students!! Out of the 30 designs only 5 eggs cracked!! Pretty impressive. \r\n\r\nYour donation made this happen. Spur in Alaska. This is a current event for my students and part of our science curriculum. In our ecology unit, students focus on learning about food chains, the balance of nature, changes to the environment, and protecting the environment. \r\n\r\nThe dissecting of owl pellets is something that every student should experience! It's exciting and hands on. Often times we don't get a chance to do too many hands on science experiments so that makes this one even more special. Without your help and support, our students would not be provided this amazing experience.
