The show was a huge success due to the wireless microphones that allowed students to be heard as they spoke their lines and sang chorally and individually. The lights provided mood and tone to the production which we were able to teach students about as a result of your generosity! \r\n Students were given the opportunity to learn how to use the specialized equipment you'd provided! We were able to instruct the students in the audio visual wiring and use by incorporating our existing sound board and computer applications that controlled the light fixtures. They have been learning about algorithms, coding with Python blocks, designing and building various robot chassis to perform different functions. Cooperation and collaboration have run rampant with students working together to code and build. Students have been learning the importance of clear communication and dialogue that promotes better understanding desired outcomes. Many students who would not otherwise have had the opportunity to interact with a robot that they'd built and programmed have been provided a tangible opportunity to explore technology used in the career fields of today. Students are creating 2-D renderings on a Computer Aided Drafting site and transferring those to create 3-D models to describe the traits of storybook characters. They are more able to visualize scientific concepts through the creation of models of solids, liquids, and gases. Students are learning to work cooperatively and collaboratively in making individual parts to an anemometer, piecing them together to make a working model. If their models don't work, they learn a lesson in failure and the process an engineer goes through when designing and creating concepts.
