My students are absolutely loving them.\r\n\r\nThe children visit the Art Center every day and are excited to create new pieces of artwork to share with their families. One of their favorite activities has been directed drawing at my table, followed by painting. This month, the students worked on drawing and painting penguins and adding icy backgrounds—and the final results were terrific!\r\n\r\nThe air-dry Play-Doh was a brand-new experience for the children, which made it especially exciting. They were enthusiastic as they followed step-by-step directions to create snowmen. This project was enjoyed by everyone and was a great opportunity to build listening and fine motor skills.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the foam shapes have been a wonderful addition to our interactive math journals. The children are using them not only to learn about geometric shapes, but also to create pictures and designs of their own.\r\n\r\nThank you again for providing my four-year-olds with new and fun learning experiences through the art materials you so generously donated. At first, it was challenging for them to understand how to follow the steps on building each tower, but day by day they learned that by working as a team it was much easier to complete the towers. In the end, they became more confident and persevered being able to build different marble runs together...they were so proud of their accomplishments!\r\n\r\nThe magnetic rods and balls are a hit in the classroom! The children wait for their turn so that they can play with this activity during center time. Most students began creating their own structures, but one student in particular sat down and patiently followed the manual's instructional steps on how to to build a spaceship (photo provided)...loved the photo! \r\n\r\nThe students have enjoyed the Stacking Balancing Robots. I like watching their amazed little faces whenever they stack the tower of balancing robots really high and suddenly it all tumbles down causing the children to laugh and try again.","fullyFundedDate":1722902615720,"projectUrl":"project/constructing-life-learning-skills-one-bl/8499299/","projectTitle":"Constructing Life Learning Skills One Block at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jimenez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9594504"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_9532","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":365,"numTeachers":45,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":69,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"8.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.6,"schoolId":9532,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Barron Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Barron Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/plano-independent-school-district/barron-early-childhood-school/9532"}
