We its time for i-Ready, the students log into the application, put on their headphones, and begin working. Then...all I hear is silence!! Every single child is quietly working. It is great to see them so excited about learning! Students daily beg to sit on the awesome rugs and lounge on the pillows that coordinate so well. They take pride in keeping them clean with a rubber broom or rug sweeper. We have had to establish a daily schedule for the special spaces so each student gets time during the week. \r\nMy fourth graders enjoy having the daisy stools for small groups and early finishers instead of the broken or extra small chairs we had. Some of them even swap their regular chairs out for the stools. It has brought a little unexpected fun into the room. \r\nThe desk bands are also a hot item. Students love getting their wiggles out. My shorter students love not having to struggle to reach the floor, using the band for a foot prop instead. \r\nThe desk dots are great for organizing not only small groups but also for test days. \r\nIt has been an exciting time in my room and has made life more flexible and less wiggly. As we are winding down our year we will be using these spaces for partner activities to review for state testing as well as silent reading spaces. Thank you for your generosity.
