The carpet has become the heart of our room, just as we hoped. It's where we gather each morning to greet one another, share our stories, and begin our day with smiles and excitement.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new carpet, their faces lit up with joy! Many of them immediately asked if they could sit in their favorite colored square or stretch out to read a book. A few even said, \"It's so soft!\" and \"It looks brand new!\" The excitement and pride they felt in their classroom were priceless.\r\n\r\nWe now use the carpet for nearly everything — from our morning meetings to storytime, math talks, and mindfulness moments. One of my favorite moments so far was during a read-aloud when everyone settled into their own space, calm and comfortable, fully focused on the story. The new carpet created a sense of community and belonging that has made a huge difference in our classroom routines.\r\n\r\nAs we move into our next lessons on storytelling and sharing, the carpet continues to be our gathering place — a safe, welcoming spot where students listen, learn, and connect with each other.
