Many of them immediately asked if they could sit in their favorite colored square or stretch out to read a book. A few even said, \"It's so soft!\" and \"It looks brand new!\" The excitement and pride they felt in their classroom were priceless.\r\n\r\nWe now use the carpet for nearly everything — from our morning meetings to storytime, math talks, and mindfulness moments. One of my favorite moments so far was during a read-aloud when everyone settled into their own space, calm and comfortable, fully focused on the story.
