Students are served in general education classes, as well as in a shared special education room. We wanted our special education classroom to be comfortable and offer flexible seating options for higher learning and engagement. Your grant has offered us the opportunity to do just that! \r\n\r\nWe frequently use wobble stools at our table during small group instruction. Our lessons consist of literacy and math lessons that relate to student special education plans, and students are often dis-regulated when learning challenging content. The ability for them to wiggle a bit, while still participating in the lesson, has been game-changing, particularly for our students with ADHD and anxiety disorders. We have also found that those stools work well at our sensory table, which is a place in which students can collaborate to solve problems, find missing objects, and build sand structures, all while focusing on problem-solving, social, and language skills. \r\n\r\nFinally, the inflatable chairs have been very popular with students as they practice reading aloud or sitting across from a peer to resolve a classroom conflict. Students are more engaged when they have choices and flexibility with seating and movement. Your generous donation has made it possible for us to have a classroom that offers a variety of comfortable seating for students who are engaged in challenging learning tasks. Thank you! We have appreciated these materials every day.","fullyFundedDate":1727462889905,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-rocks/8574007/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating Rocks!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sondra","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9632325"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_128474","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":310,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":24,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":73,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.7,"schoolId":128474,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bamford Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bamford Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/poudre-school-district/bamford-elementary-school/128474"}
