In the classroom, it gives my students a visual sense of security as they learn blocking and practice using the stage. During performances, those small pieces of tape help my children feel confident and prepared because they know where they belong. For my students who may be nervous about performing, having a clear place to stand can make the difference between feeling overwhelmed and feeling successful. It also teaches important theatrical skills such as spatial awareness, stage directions, teamwork, and professionalism.\r\n\r\nThe body microphone batteries give our students something even more powerful: the opportunity to be heard. Their young voices can easily be lost in our large performance space, and microphones allow every child; including our quieter and more hesitant performers...to share their words with the audience. There is something incredibly special about watching my young students put on a microphone and suddenly realize, \"My voice matters.
