My goal is for my students to be able to walk into a Microbiology Laboratory with confidence, and we are achieving that with your donations. We have just picked our samples and swabbed them onto our Petri plates, and then did a 4-way streak for isolation. The growth has them very excited and engaged. They have picked two organisms to \"work up\" and are researching what each organism could be. Afterward they will \"work them up\" and do an antibiotic battery with the discs you provided. For \"working them up\", we will be Gram staining them, and then putting them onto the selective and differential agar from Donor's choose. I can already tell what they are, but my goal is to get them to be able to think this way. They have learnt Normal Flora and are talking about this within the class. \r\n I am so excited for the labs we are doing. They have already performed Gram stains, with the exciting part being lighting the burners. The organisms chosen so far are Candida albicans, Pseudomonas sp, Enterococcus sp., Staphylococcus species, Micrococcus species, and molds. the agars you provided will give us further \"workup.\r\n\r\nThank you for donating to our school. Without the donations, the labs would not be so informational and engaging.","fullyFundedDate":1757873142831,"projectUrl":"project/medical-microbiology-program-supplies/9653650/","projectTitle":"Medical Microbiology Program Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McDermott","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10225736_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757890733585","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10225736"},{"teacherId":6573859,"projectId":8930112,"letterContent":"With the generous gift you gave, the students of Axtell High School were able to see atoms come to life.
