Through the \"Ninja Life Hacks\" curriculum, my students gained practical tools and strategies to navigate and manage their emotions. The concept of the ninjas, each representing a different step in emotional regulation, captivated the students. They were eager to learn more about each \"ninja\" and often asked me to teach them about the specific skills associated with each one.\r\n\r\nAs a result, students began actively applying these techniques to self-regulate when faced with strong emotions, such as frustration or anxiety. One notable success story is a student who previously received over 30 behavioral referrals in the prior year. After learning to identify and manage his emotions using the ninja strategies, this student reduced his referrals to fewer than 10. This remarkable improvement demonstrates the power of the program in helping students recognize their emotions and implement effective coping mechanisms.\r\n\r\nI utilized this curriculum with all of my students during social skills lessons, providing them with essential tools for managing emotional challenges in and out of the classroom. The \"Ninja Life Hacks\" not only helped students build self-awareness but also fostered a more positive and supportive classroom environment, where students felt empowered to handle big emotions with confidence and resilience.\r\n\r\nThis program has had a profound impact on our students, equipping them with the skills they need for long-term emotional growth and success.","fullyFundedDate":1687188180898,"projectUrl":"project/ninja-life-hacks-for-social-success/7422776/","projectTitle":"Ninja Life Hacks for Social Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Harris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp206028_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1449451658382","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/harrisj"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39678","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":503,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":20,"percentWhite":24,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":49,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":68.7,"schoolId":39678,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Avon Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Avon Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/highlands-county-school-district/avon-elementary-school/39678"}
