We use them for rhythm play-alongs, steady beat activities, and as accompaniment to songs we are learning in class. One special classroom moment was watching students confidently perform a rhythm pattern together on the djembes—playing with more focus and enthusiasm than I've ever seen. The drums have strengthened their teamwork, creativity, and overall excitement for music.\r\n\r\nTheir reaction to these new djembe drums was priceless. They were immediately drawn to the bright variety of colors and the unique look and feel of each drum. The excitement in the room grew as they compared colors, found their favorite drums, and began exploring the rich, vibrant sound that the djembes bring to our lessons.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, the djembes will continue to support our rhythm and ensemble-learning goals. Students are currently working toward performing rhythm accompaniments for several songs later this semester, and these drums give them the perfect opportunity to practice playing together as a true musical group. Your generous donation has created meaningful learning experiences that will continue to grow throughout the year, and we are incredibly grateful.\r\n\r\nSincerely,","fullyFundedDate":1747325278554,"projectUrl":"project/rhythm-and-jive/9097755/","projectTitle":"Rhythm and Jive!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bramlett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9916014"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_77178","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":114,"numTeachers":15,"percentFrplEligible":55,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":85,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"7.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":77178,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Avilla Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Avilla Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/avilla-school-district-r13/avilla-elementary-school/77178"}
