We received our 1st issue and got it into the hands of students this past week. They were so excited to have their own copy to read, make notes in, take the quiz, and take it home to share with their families. \r\n\r\nThis particular issue focused on cause and effect which was a skill that we had introduced the week before. It was the perfect complimentary activity to remind students of the skill. The content was engaging - especially because it had a huge goldfish on the front! Students couldn't wait to read the article. Our room was buzzing with excitement and you could hear the hum of quiet chatter as students discussed their new learning. \r\n\r\nI cannot wait for our next issue.","fullyFundedDate":1746787296499,"projectUrl":"project/4th-graders-love-scholastic-news-magazin/9238247/","projectTitle":"4th Graders Love Scholastic News Magazine!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ail","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9239342_orig.jpg?crop=860,860,x0,y94&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743954857332","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9239342"},{"teacherId":9232779,"projectId":9015522,"letterContent":"Choice based art centers has completely transformed my classroom and the engagement my students are having in art! \r\n\r\nStudents love the ability to choose from 6 different centers and complete their own original works. The organization systems help them to access materials as they would in a real studio without needing me to assist them. I then can focus my efforts on furthering their work and teaching new skills. This method of art instruction has also helped to reduce behavioral issues by increasing individual choice and engagement which is a win for everyone! \r\n\r\nI look forward to next fall with anticipation as I tweak and perfect the choice based system with my students. You provided us with wooden building blocks as well as a plethora of high-quality math manipulatives.\r\n\r\nThe students absolutely loved having the wooden blocks, and we have done several cycles of \"block city,\" where we plan a city and then implement the plan. These blocks are so good for teaching about maps, sharing, collaborating, and problem-solving! They have also been useful when teaching geometry! Currently, we have a fenced-off section of our classroom, so that the building can continue from day to day without the need for cleaning up and without the possibility of structures falling down. These blocks are a game-changer for our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe math manipulatives were also a wonderful enhancement to our classroom! Students love the imitation money the best, and opened up a make-believe restaurant and sold different foods! This was a great way to teach money and counting. The pattern blocks and 3-D shapes were also instrumental in teaching patterns and geometry. All in all, these items have helped learning in our classroom and we appreciate your generosity!","fullyFundedDate":1732291683734,"projectUrl":"project/building-blocks-for-building-minds/8605160/","projectTitle":"Building Blocks for Building Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Frodella","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9295383"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41456","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":383,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":37,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":81,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":81.8,"schoolId":41456,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Avery Parsons Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Avery Parsons Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/buena-vista-school-district-r-31/avery-parsons-elementary-school/41456"}
