The new counting and number resources have become a favorite part of our small-group time.\r\n\r\nOne special moment was when the children used the wooden counting peg boards to match numbers with the correct quantity. They carefully counted each peg one by one, placing them into the board spaces while saying the numbers out loud. It was amazing to watch their concentration and hear them proudly announce, \"I did four!\" or \"I have five!\" These simple but powerful activities are helping them connect numerals to real quantities.\r\n\r\nWe have also been using magnetic ten-frames on our classroom refrigerator to practice counting to two and beyond. The children love placing the bright magnetic pieces into the frames and physically seeing what \"two\" looks like. Some students even compare their boards and check each other's work. These moments are building not only number sense, but also confidence and teamwork.\r\n\r\nAnother favorite activity has been using counters with number cards during table time. Students match the correct number card and then count out the corresponding discs into the ten-frame tray. Their fine motor skills are strengthening as they carefully pick up and place each piece, and their excitement grows as they realize they can count independently.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the room was filled with smiles and eager hands ready to explore. The children were immediately drawn to the bright colors and interactive pieces. Since then, these resources have become a daily part of our learning routine.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to extend these activities into simple addition concepts, number comparisons (more/less), and continued practice with one-to-one correspondence. Because of your support, our youngest learners are building a strong foundation in early math through play, exploration, and hands-on discovery.\r\n\r\nThank you for making these joyful learning moments possible. Your generosity is truly shaping their first experiences with school and helping them develop confidence that will last for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1769177295767,"projectUrl":"project/a-b-c-wish-with-me/9866117/","projectTitle":"A-B-C, Wish With Me!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lindeen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7816339_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761800154742","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7816339"},{"teacherId":4612454,"projectId":8576735,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the classroom tools.
