Your donation means so much to our 2nd grade class. We are especially enjoying the I Survived Series because they are based on real-life events. We love checking them out with our class library card system so that we can read them at home.\r\n\r\nReading is at the heart of our afternoons. We listen to a read aloud when we are getting settled back in the room from lunch. We then participate in a whole group reading lesson and love to talk about what we have read. Our new district reading series almost always captures our attention and we are curious to learn more about each topic. We then move on to partner reading with decodable readers and end with a phonics lesson. \r\n\r\nWe are looking forward to spending more time just reading for fun. We will use these new books during DEAR Time (Drop Everything and Read) to just enjoy reading and to build stamina. Thank you for giving us this amazing gift. Our new books have been added to our class library and we are really enjoying them - no tears, no yellow pages, just nice new books. Those students who don't have books at home can check one out using our class card system. This way they can complete their 15 minutes of daily reading for homework. You have truly made an impact on these students, especially the ones that don't have access to books at home.\r\n\r\nWe also look forward to spending more time just reading for fun. Children who were once hesitant to take risks or afraid to make mistakes began to jump into challenges with excitement. The freedom to explore, build, redesign, and try again opened doors that traditional pencil and paper tasks sometimes keep closed. Their confidence soared as they realized that mistakes aren't failures- they're part of the process. \r\nThe STEM materials also became a powerful motivational tool during the school day. Students understood that when they worked hard and stayed focused during class time, they would have the opportunity to use the materials afterward. This incentive helped strengthen their management skills, time awareness and responsibility.\r\nFor my youngest learners this opened a new opportunity to practice social skills. While building they practiced taking turns, sharing ideas, listening to one another, using kind words and collaborating. They stretched their imaginations while building peer interactions skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom. \r\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in their futures. Because of you, the learning continues!","fullyFundedDate":1761147607660,"projectUrl":"project/building-our-way-through-confidence-and/9538312/","projectTitle":"Building Our Way Through Confidence and Perseverance","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brunella","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10112573"},{"teacherId":9902737,"projectId":9071595,"letterContent":"Our Shark robot vaccuum has made such a big impact on our classroom. Moving into our school after we were displaced from Hurricane Helene, was very emotional for my students. We were thrilled to be back home and get to enjoy our brand new rug and floors. Students now take ownership of our classroom by making certain chairs are put up, large debris is off the floor, and that our vaccuum can safely run at the end of the day.
