Your kindness has made a meaningful difference in the lives of my students, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to provide them with resources that support both their learning and their well-being.\r\n\r\nThe arrival of the fidgets, chew necklaces, clay, and squishies has truly transformed our daily classroom routine. These resources provide my students with the tactile and sensory input they need while allowing them to remain engaged in instruction and participate in classroom activities. For students who experience restless energy, anxiety, or difficulty maintaining focus, having access to appropriate sensory tools can make a tremendous difference. Instead of becoming distracted or overwhelmed, they now have quiet, productive ways to manage their energy while continuing to learn.\r\n\r\nI have already noticed positive changes in my students. These tools provide them with an immediate and appropriate way to self-regulate when they are feeling stressed, anxious, or overstimulated. They can use the resources right at their desks without interrupting instruction or taking away from the learning of others. This has helped create a calmer and more supportive classroom environment where students feel comfortable using strategies that work for them.\r\n\r\nI have also seen improvements in concentration, classroom behavior, and engagement. When students are able to meet their sensory needs, they are better able to focus their attention on academic tasks. The clay, fidgets, and squishies also provide opportunities to strengthen fine-motor skills while keeping students actively involved in learning. Most importantly, these resources help my students build independence by teaching them to recognize when they need a strategy and choose an appropriate tool to help themselves get back to learning.\r\n\r\nAt this time, I am unable to take pictures of my students, but please know that they truly appreciate every one of these generous donations. They were amazed to learn that someone outside of our school cared enough about them to think of them and send them special gifts. Their excitement and appreciation were priceless. It was incredibly meaningful for them to know that people in their community believe in them and want to help them succeed.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has provided much more than classroom supplies. You have given my students tools that help them feel successful, supported, and understood. Yoga has been a big hit in our counseling office. The giant cards and dice are wonderful for the younger kiddos to follow and play along. The older kiddos enjoy the movement and meditation pieces. The yoga mats are perfect for emphasizing personal space, and the nature cards tie a lot together with integrating nature and mindfulness. The journaling piece has also been impactful. The journals have encouraged my students to write and draw when they are feeling hard emotions. They are learning the power of writing down their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, without judgment or criticism. \r\n\r\nThe yoga and mindfulness tools have been great additions to our lessons on self awareness and self regulation. I can see the students connecting the dots on bringing their attention to the present moment, and accepting all of their feelings.\r\n\r\nNext steps are to bring more mindfulness practices to the entire school through lessons and projects. With this Kindergarten class being the \"COVID babies\" social interactions were something a lot of them were not familiar with and this is really a wonderful learning experience! The science viewers have been one of the more favorite items my students have received. Not only do they enjoy using them at a learning center but they ask to take them out for a free choice activity to continue to use them! We are now able to use our new manipulatives to build letters and words as they are introduced throughout the year and have a lot of tactile learning happening!
