Because of your generosity, we received an easel, pocket chart stand, and pocket chart, and they have already made such a meaningful impact in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe easel has been a wonderful tool during carpet time, helping me model lessons, display anchor charts, and keep students engaged in whole-group learning. The pocket chart stand and chart have been equally valuable during centers and writing time students now have a clear, organized way to access materials, practice skills, and work independently. These resources have truly made teaching smoother and more interactive, while also giving students the structure and support they need to succeed.\r\n\r\nMy students were super excited to see the new materials in the classroom and they love that they get to interact with them everyday. Thank you for investing in our classroom and helping create a space where my students can thrive every day. My kindergarteners are now using the fuzzy rug, soft seating, and new SEL picture books for our daily \"reading center\" block. One of my favorite moments was watching a student who normally struggles to focus sit cross-legged with a new book and whisper, \"I can sit and read like in the library.\" We've also started \"Book Buddy Mornings,\" where students from a different group each day read with a partner and talk about their favorite characters. The calm space helps them engage deeply, especially with our current theme on emotions and friendship.\r\n\r\nMy students were over the moon once they saw all the books! Several of them gasped and shouted, \"¡Mira! There's an area to sit!\" Each group got to explore the books, touch the soft rug, and kept saying how it looked \"like a real library corner.\" One student rolled on the rub — that's how excited and thankful they were. Their faces lit up with joy, and it truly made all the behind-the-scenes work worthwhile.\r\n\r\nRight now, we're diving into a bilingual author study where students explore books in both Spanish and English, identifying emotions, character actions, and lessons learned. The SEL books from this project are at the heart of this unit. We will explore SEL books and have mini-lessons based on our books.","fullyFundedDate":1740752887460,"projectUrl":"project/reading-corner-makeover/9071971/","projectTitle":"Reading Corner MakeOver","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Toscano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9902989_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744225347937","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mstoscanosclassroom"},{"teacherId":9127203,"projectId":8552275,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to our project.
